At the end of 2009, the long expected book "Decorative Painting the Van Der Kelen Way" has been published.
This book is the result of several years of research and collaboration with Mr Jacques Moulin, Chief Architect for Historical Monuments, France; Prof. Dr. Ir. Hans Beeckman, Senior Scientist at the Royal Museum for Central Africa, Belgium; Prof. Eric Groessens, Ph.D. Professor at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, Head of research at the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences, Belgium and Sylvie Van der Kelen, Art Historian.
This work aims a specialized public such as architects, the national heritage services, decorators, antiquaries and all people interested in fine arts.
It has lifted up the veil of the mystery of woodgraining and marbling painted on the walls for ages, and gives a new dimension to this kind of decoration maybe too much undervalued in our days.
